Dividend Distribution tables
« on: December 23, 2015, 02:32:46 PM »
Can anyone lend a hand with reading the Vanguard dividend tables like this one?

Am I right to think that the table says that your dividend is calculated on the number of shares you have on 24-12-2015, and paid on 05-01-2016?
What is the Record date?
Can I calculate my dividend by multiplying the total distribution per unit by the number of shares I hold?
Is this dividend counted in my 2015 taxes (when it is calculated) or in my 2016 taxes (when I receive it)?

Thanks in advance!

See http://www.investopedia.com/articles/02/110802.asp?header_alt=c for more details.

In short, the latest dividend in the linked table will count for 2016 and can be calculated by multiplying the total distribution per unit by the number of shares you hold on 30-12-2015 (that's the significance of the "date of Record").
