Title: choice between (us) etf and (uk) fund
Post by: VanDyk on June 07, 2016, 12:49:46 AM
Hi,

I am currently invested in Vanguard FTSE Developed World ex UK Equity Index Acc, but I was wondering whether Vanguard Total Stock Market ETF (ARCA:VTI)  or Vanguard Total World Stock ETF (ARCA:VT) would be a better choice. Either of the last two feels like its investing globally through the US rather than through the UK. I understand that Total Stock Market is not directly international, but the companies in the index are international themselves. I didn't initially think about ETFs, but I am getting more comfortable with them as an idea.

http://www.morningstar.com/etfs/ARCX/VTI/quote.html (0.05%)

Is it tax-friendly (no additional nonsense), is it really exactly what I think - same approach, different exchange, no surprises.

Thanks,
