Canada - Questrade - VTI Paperwork?
« on: September 21, 2018, 02:49:20 PM »
Hi folks,

I figured someone here would have the answer - I just got a mailed Prospectus and Semiannual Report for VTI from Questtrade. Is that a legal obligation on their part or can I turn that off to save the paper?

I don't recall getting any other Vanguard mailings from QT. Although I may be forgetting some if they are not frequent.

There is a opt out setting on your Questrade account settings, but they may have to send some by law. I'm guessing your account is set up for no mailings if you've held other ETFs in the same account for some time.

You can opt out of VTI mailings manually using www.proxyvote.com and requesting e-delivery.

Thanks RM. I found the communications preferences form at QT. I don't recall filling it out before so I'm going to do so for my 3 accounts and switch them all to email.

I tried out proxyvote, but my mailing envelope from QT doesn't have a control number on it. I'll see what effect sending in the forms to QT has.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
