Brexit buying: what price will I get?
« on: June 24, 2016, 06:44:11 AM »
I have a bit of spare cash and thought I'd take advantage of the Brexit market drop to buy some equities. Usually I just DCA, so I don't actually understand how the timing of my order relates to the price that I pay. If I put in a buy order through Vanguard at (say) 10am today, what share price do I get? The price at 10am? Or end of day? Thanks!

If you're buying a mutual fund at 10am then the price will be the closing price for today.  If you buy an ETF then you can get it at the price when the trade is executed.

FYI -- if you buy a mutual fund after the market closes, then the purchase will be for the next day's closing price.
