Market "opens" at 9:30am Eastern Time (8:30am Central) and "closes" at 4pm Eastern (3pm Central).

But there are pre-market and post-market hours when you can still buy and sell as early as 6am and late as 6pm.

Spread is usually .01-.02 during trading day.  Be careful pre and post-market as the spreads can be very wide.

If you're investing long-term, what does it matter?

I mean, how does this affect investing decisions you make? Are you day-trading? Nothing wrong with it, per se, but it's too much like work for most of us... ;)

I've got an AA that I follow and this will most likely not affect how I invest. However, I am very curious as to what the reason for ETF's like these to be opened daily on a delay. Maybe by knowing this I learn something else thats useful, or maybe I just learn something.

Not getting a large amount destroyed by horrible spreads is still nice if you're investing long-term.

I am with you, I like to know stuff. I have also noted that when people try to change the subject it is frequently because saying " I have no idea" has some kind of stigma. ( this is not an attack on previous posters, just a general observation, all previous posters comments are valid)
Side note: stick with a doctor that is comfortable saying "I don't know".

I can freely say I have no idea. With most questions. It involving an opinion, I turn to google. Perhaps OP can try that
