Title: Bridge the gap?
Post by: mbjerry on October 18, 2017, 04:04:23 PM
Hello yall, new here on the forum. I have a question I am hoping to get some help with. I see that it is possible to withdraw from a 401k or IRA before 59.5. If I have a desired retirement of 50 years old should I continue to invest in my 401k and IRA and use the strategies available for early withdrawal? OR is there a better investment vehicle that I should be utilizing in addition to my 401k and IRA to bridge the gap from 50 to 59.5? Thanks and looking forward to time well spent on the MMM forum.

Matt

mbjerry, welcome to the forum.

Yes.

Do plan to have enough in taxable accounts (or Roth contributions) to cover your expenses while the Roth pipeline is being filled.

At least, that's the generic advice.  For more specific suggestions, consider How To: Write a "Case Study" Topic (https://forum.mrmoneymustache.com/case-studies/how-to-write-a-'case-study'-topic/).
