thanks SS, has been a bit slow on the blogging front since I started 2 days / week part-time... I have an e-book 90% drafted which I want to put up there soon, must get it done !!!

Unless of course you want to work all day to pay the enormous childcare bills.

Two words: Offset account.

Seconded. I'd work hard to make the offset account match the size of the mortgage. You will then be free of interest payments, but still have a huge emergency stash available. Of source, this will require discipline to make sure you don't touch it to buy a new car, go on an expensive holiday etc etc.

It's worked really well for me, but I see others with less discipline constantly raiding the piggy bank.
