Best rates on a CD ladder?
« on: December 26, 2023, 06:10:01 PM »
I want to set up a 7 year non callable CD ladder with monthly dividend, and so far it looks like Crescent Bank looks pretty good:
1 year 5.15% APY
2 y 5.05
3 y 4.80
4 y 4.55
5 y 4.50 (double the amount for year 6)
Vanguard has a 7 y 3.90.

I will need to pay state tax, I also checked Fidelity, Schwab, and Raisin, but the rates were lower. If you know of any other high yield banks that you could recommend?

This was a good excuse to try out my broker's CD ladder feature, even though I'm not interested in CD ladders.

Year  APY
Y1:   4.7%
Y2:   4.34%
Y3:   4.00%
Y4:   3.95%
Y5:   3.9%
Y6:   N/A
Y7:   3.8%

So ALL your rates were better than mine, probably due to rates falling between 12/26 and 1/4. Crescent didn't come up in my search.

I ended up opening up CD's with Prime Alliance Bank with
1y. 5.27%
2y. 5.27%
3y. 4.96%

First national Bank of America
4y. 4.80%
5y. 4.75%
6y. 4.60%
7y. 4.55%

Brokered CD's definitely are the first to go down.
