Best Brokerage for Intl Trading
« on: December 22, 2016, 10:06:11 AM »
Quick Question:

What is the best brokerage site for international exchange trading?  Specifically the Australian Stock Exchange.  I have an account through optionsxpress, but they do not allow international trading.  I need suggestions ASAP.

Thanks!

Interactive Brokers is probably going to be your best bet if you're based in the US. They allow trading on various exchanges in Australia including the Australian Stock Exchange.

A plain old Schwab or Fidelity account will also let you trade on these exchanges but typically their forex costs are going to be higher than IB and they'll probably have higher commissions. For example, Fidelity will charge you $7.95 as a base fee plus $32 per trade for Australian equities plus whatever their forex cut is.
