Avoid paying back-end load?
« on: June 14, 2017, 09:03:36 PM »
I own an American Fund, AICCX Investment Company of America, and want to sell it and move the money to Vanguard. It is a class C share with a 1% back end load.
Is there any way to get around paying the back end load? I've heard some funds waive the back end load depending on how long you hold the fund. I've read the prospectus and don't see anything there about that.
I'm prepared to just suck it up and pay the fee, and move on to better low cost funds, but would love to find a way to avoid paying it.
Any chance of this?

You're right LAS!
I'm not sure how I missed that. I actually did read that page. I have owned it for more than 1 year so I think I'm good.
Thanks.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
