Diversified Portfolio in 401K
« on: February 06, 2015, 06:02:51 PM »
I'm not sure what my actual goals are for investing. I guess my goal is to make good returns over time (Isn't everyone?)
I currently have the money in my 401K going in to two different Vanguard Funds:
Vanguard Balanced Index VBIAX, and Vanguard 500 Index Admiral VFIAX

I think someone mentioned before that I should be in one or the other, and that it's pointless to have both funds.
So could someone that knows a little about this stuff give me some advice?
Here are the low cost funds in my 401K available to me:

VBIAX 0.09% Fees
VFIAX 0.05% Fees
Vanguard Interim Term Bond Fund Index- VBILX   0.10% fees
DFA Large Cap DFLVX 0.27% Fees
Vanguard Explorer Admiral VEXRX  0.35% Fees
DFA Real Estate Securities Fund DFREX  0.19% Fees

How should I diversify the allocations? Any feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks
