Losing a billion dollars off the market cap is not really meaningful unless you consider it as a percentage of the company's worth. E.g., if Apple lost a billion dollars in market cap that would be a tenth of a percent off the share price. United is down less than 3% today. That doesn't make it a screaming red-hot buy that we should all be jumping on.

Well, the person could be Hitler himself re-incarnate, but that sort of victim blaming cannot justify his treatment as evident from numerous videos and eyewitness accounts.

United Technologies (UTX) is down about a percent. I wonder how much of that was erroneous orders meant for UAL.

Indeed, disobeying a flight crew order makes the good doctor a felon. Potentially add resisting arrest, and this A-hole who thought paying for a seat meant something could get some jail time!
