Hey, have to use fidelity for one of my retirement accounts and simply wondering if the Fidelity Total Market Index Fund is the closest thing they offer to VTSAX?

Yes. Their holdings are slightly different but can be considered identical for all intensive porpoises.

Malapropism fun.

Here's a good table of Fidelity equivalents to Vanguard funds: https://www.bogleheads.org/wiki/Fidelity -- Of course, that doesn't mean they're available in your employer plan. My wife's Fidelity 403(b) is mostly full of Vanguard funds.

Also keep in mind that ETFs trade commission free at Fidelity, so you could also just invest in VTI, the ETF version of VTSAX. Since this is an employer plan, not a retail account, you'd need to open a brokerage link account.

Fidelity is a little cheaper too! So it's pretty solid. I have a work 401K in fidelity. I kept it after I left the job because I like the funds!

I have nothing constructive to add - but this made me laugh out loud.

This is technically true, but in practice is negligible for most investors. Vanguard is 0.04% whereas Fidelity's offering is 0.015%. Yes, that's 4x higher, but on every $10k that's a difference of just $3.  Certainly not nothing but it's a rather tiny percentage of the overall amount.

100% agree - the difference isn't meaningful but, still true!
