Advice for a newbie.

I live in the US (NY State) and would like to starting investing in stocks that generate monthly dividends. Any advice on a course or book for a beginner? Any advice would be appreciated.

Monthly payers are rare. Is there a reason you want to focus on this niche area of the market?
