PA 529 v. Vanguard NV 529
« on: September 22, 2017, 10:33:02 AM »
I'm about to open a 529 of for my son, and I am in between utilizing PA's 529 or Vanguard's option. Would appreciate any advice on which option to choose.

You get the same tax treatment in PA even if you use an out-of-state plan, but there are some benefits to using PA's plan (which has vanguard investment options). For example, funds in PA's plan will not be considered when determining state financial aid for college. That being said, I am leaning towards using Vanguard as the rest of my money is there and I like their user interface and customer support.

Thanks in advance for any advice/guidance
