750k a year: How much money would one need to invest?

I may be on to something but i need to get one fact right.
How much money would one need to invest and in what do you need to invest with minimal management/participation of the investor to earn 750k dollars a year?
Someone mentioned Index Funds, others mutual funds and many suggest hedge funds but my interests lie in properties and leisure/energy industries. Any advise would be appreciated.
Also contacts of honest efficient fund managers who can provide more insight would greatly be appreciated.

The math is easy with the 4% rule:

$750,000 / 0.04 = $18,750,000

Excluding taxes of course :)

You really aren't part of the in-crowd unless you've bought entire skyscrapers on a whim..

This is actually a nice amount of money, as it represents roughly 15X the average household income. I recall Thomas Picketty tracking that basis as the minimum threshold for the sort of opulence that you see people living in romance novels, etc.

Or, it puts you at roughly middle class in Manhattan.
