Title: 403b Strategy Question (High Expense funds)
Post by: PencilThin on August 28, 2016, 01:56:16 PM
Long time lurker, first time caller....

Significant other works for a non-profit with a 403b, decent match, horrible fund options.....

Several Bond fund options, Balanced options, Small, Mid and Large Cap options...ALL of these have expense ratios from 0.96 to 1.58.....NO index fund options

We are in the 28% tax bracket, so will keep maxing the 403b for the tax break (and the match). Will probably stay with this organization at least a few more years.

Question is, does one just hold their nose and pick the funds that fall in line with one's asset allocation plans.....or is there any justification for just putting all the dough into the "cash option" 1% interest account....until such time that it can be rolled over into low fee index funds?

PencilThin, welcome to the forum.

See To 401k or not to 401k? That is the question. (http://forum.mrmoneymustache.com/investor-alley/to-401k-or-not-to-401k-that-is-the-question-43459/) for a very similar discussion.
