401k and Specific Vanguard Fund Suggestions
« on: April 01, 2014, 06:38:51 PM »
I know that there are many Vanguard and 401k threads out there, but I was hoping for a little help on the specific funds available.

My wife works for an oil company that has a 15% 401k match. We've adjusted her contributions to 15% starting on the next check. The default fund it is set on is the Vanguard Target Retirement 2055 Inv Fund (VFFVX). With the options I have is there anything better than this? The VTTSX is almost identical, but it has a slightly larger percentage in VTSMX. I had originally looked at VIGIX, VSGIX, and VSIIX, until I saw the holdings on the Target retirement funds, which, have a lower P/E ratio and I like that they are largely in the VTSMX and VGTSX.

Any suggestions? Should I go after one of the target retirement funds solely? Should I split the contributions in any way?

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
