Unread posts and new replies links have disappeared

The unread posts and new replies links have disappeared.  Is that just me?  Is there any way to fix it?

Top right of the page there is a white arrow(?) (hard to tell on the light background) that if you click it expands/hides the header links. You may have clicked it on accident.

OK this is bizarre...now I have a reply button in this thread, but not in any others, no matter which way the white arrow is pointing.
