Unable to start a new topic in the OFF TOPIC section

Hello everyone, is there some special rule concerning the off topic section? There isn't a "new topic" button there for me, only "notify" and "mark read".

There are a couple of sections where you can’t post until you have already posted more than 50 times.

Yes, you need 100 posts before you can post in Off Topic.

I agree that the rule seems a little silly. 100 posts seems way too high.

I don't mind the rule. I believe it was imposed when the political discussions got too contentious around here.

Actually I'm somewhat worried about colleagues figuring out I'm me. That's probably part of why I'm only writing my 49th post so far ;)

50 more posts seem kindof far away though. I could just write a journal about what I was going to write in Off Topic. After all it IS a personal matter and people give the funniest titles to their journals anyways :o)

I used to care about being anonymous too. But the bigger my stash grew, the less I cared. :D
