sorting member search list
« on: July 02, 2015, 03:53:13 AM »
When I get the member list up (Members > View the Memberlist) I can sort it by clicking on the top of one of the columns. However, when I get a member search list up (Members > Search For Members) I can't.

This is particularly frustrating as the search list does not come in alphabetical order, so it is difficult to find who I want. For instance, I was looking for MsRichLife's journal, so I decided to look for her name - I couldn't remember whether it was Ms_Rich_Life or what combination it was, so I searched for Ms - and of course I got a ton of them, and it was difficult to find the member I was looking for because I couldn't order it.

Another way is to search for "rich" or "life. MsRichLife came up in both of those searches. And then you could search within the page of "ms" results for "rich" or "life". It would take you right to the ones with those words in the names. You should be able to find it quickly.

It didn't - the search feature gives every POST that ever had RICH in it - it doesn't search within the memberlist.

Sorry, I may have been unclear - the bolded bit was the one that didn't work.

Yeah, you have to use your browser's search function (Ctrl+F or through the menu) within a page. The search function on the website itself will just give you posts.

Have you gotten it to work now? I can provide screenshots if that helps.
