Reports to mods going un-noticed?
« on: July 26, 2017, 04:30:57 PM »
According to the forum rules thread:

Quote
4/1/14 Edit:
You may only share a referral code for each particular product or company once, on the entire forum.  Promoting the same code over and over is considered spamming

I reported this thread a few days back when it appeared, as it is blatantly a duplicate of this other thread in the more-appropriate reader recommendations forum.

Then today I come back to find that both threads have bump posts from the original author simply to re-promote the same thing twice. I reported it a second time; are the mods just behind, or is this not against the rules?

If I report something that doesn't get action, is there any mechanism in place to circle back and explain why not?

Remember, the moderators job is a voluntary one. They spend a lot to time policing the system, but they do have their own lives and cannot dedicate all their time to this forum.

They do have a little leeway and let small issues go by. They slam down hard on anything offensive or blatant spamming of the forum.

That being said, the moderators do a great job on this forum.  My thanks to all of them!

It could take a couple of days - give it time. They may also just warn/remind the person of the rules at first. Especially if this isn't terribly egregious spamming.  It's also hard to know what else is going on, that may be keeping them busy.

Thanks for your vigilance, dhc. I know the mods are busy and volunteers, so helping them spot the weeds keeps the garden thriving for everyone, even if it takes more than one try.
