How to Add a line at the bottom of Posts

Would someone explain how to do this as if I were your 80 year old grandparent.  I'm a bit younger than that but...I still don't even have the knowledge to know the right terms.

Many people have a standard line that is automatically added at the bottom of each of their posts.  I just started a journal and would like to "advertise" it when I post elsewhere in the  forums.  Damn, now I realize I'd like that I'd like to link that journal in the line at the bottom of my posts.

Click profile on the bar across the top.  Modify profile.  Put the text or link in the signature line.

I'm throwing in an extra step-----Click profile on the bar across the top.  Click modify profile.  Look down menu and click Forum Profile.  Put the text or link in the signature line.
