Blue boxes
« on: April 01, 2014, 08:28:31 PM »
How does everybody move somebody's previous post or comment into their reply (the blue box), and how do they nest them one on top of the other?

Like this? Just hit "Quote" at the top right of the post you want to quote.

I am a former teacher who accumulated a bunch of real estate, retired at 29, spent some time traveling the world full time and am now settled with three kids.
If you want to know more about me, this Business Insider profile tells the story pretty well.

LOL, I was expecting more like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nrqLv__bFzk

Yeah, nikki's reply seemed to cover it pretty well, so I went the other way.  :)

Also that guy's voice was pretty hypnotic.  I got sucked in for like a full minute watching him talk about posting on a forum.

Was I the only one who opened the thread thinking it might be about how to save money by using certain electronic noisemaking devices to make free long distance calls?

My first thought was actually these blue boxes:

Was I the only one who opened the thread thinking it might be about how to save money by using certain electronic noisemaking devices to make free long distance calls?

LOL, no I totally forgot about all those telephony hacker boxes.

Telephony hacker boxes sound pretty mustachian.  As opposed to, say, these blue boxes.

I see these things all over my neighborhood and have no idea what they're for. Anybody ever use one? I've heard people talk about "mailing" some "letters" but that sounds so awfully inconvenient I have a hard time believing them.

Oooh, I love sending mail.  To me, getting a letter in the mail is like receiving a warm hug, and sending a letter in the mail is like giving one!  I used to do mail art too (if you don't know what that is, google it - or pm me your address and I will send you some - I would really love to get back into doing it!)

I actually got "real" mail this week ... I came home on Wednesday to find a big envelope in the mailbox, from my friend who lives in Winnipeg now.  She sent me a little sign for my door saying "My Pitbull Terrier lives here" and a nice card with a note.  Had me smiling all night.

But our mailboxes are red.  So that would be a different thread.
