Is it too late in the year to apply for S Corp status?

I read something about a 75 day deadline after the first of the year.

Officially there's a deadline, but there is a form my accountant filled out for us that allows you to request a change after the window...she said that it is always approved.  We actually changed our status in December 2 years ago, so you should be fine.
