Only recently I have begun to do minor woodworking projects with what only used to be my firewood. When I check my stack, it seems that hazelnut tends to be relatively crack free, almost never infested with various sorts of mould, and it grows pretty fast and straight. Used it for simple fences ages ago.
So, woodworkers, what do you use hazelnut for?

Attached photo is what I did with some hazel coppice a couple of years ago. Also use it to make hurdles (fence panels for the garden) and arches/garden decoration.

The "Lord of the Rings"-charme on this one is through the roof. You keep it inside or outside?

Outside - I just accept that it will only last a few years - being made from green wood which still has the water means it's fairly heavy. Doesn't require any great woodworking talent, just picking out pieces that have a nice curve or 'Y' shape. It's probably suffered more damage from the local cats using it as a launching point than from the rain and snow. Plenty of "green" (i.e freshly cut) woodworking projects on the internet.
