We heat with wood and the other night while trying to load up the stove a piece of wood fell out and cracked the glass on the door. This made the stove unsafe to operate. I went to the Vermont casting website and got a price and then called the installer. He could not get a new piece of glass for 2 weeks and at a cost of $220 plus labor. I called a glass shop and got a piece cut of special wood stove glass and installed it myself for $141 in 3 days. Glad I took the extra time and found a cheaper solution.
