We have a vocational school a couple of towns over. They need cars to work on so they offer free repairs, car owner just needs to pay for parts. There is a $25 dollar diagnostics fee, but that's it, other than the parts. The bushings were bad in the control arms. Just had the 2 control arms and linkage cables (my have my terms wrong here, forgive this old woman please). Did an alignment too. Parts were $150, plus the $25 fee. Jeep drives like a DREAM. Their work is checked by the instructors/certified mechanics. I figure I saved about $200-300 in labor. :) T

Wow that's awesome! I'll have to see if something like this is in my area.

+1 for this!  I had never thought about this, but it makes so much sense.  I may look into this next time I am in need of repairs.

So cool, I didn't know that was done for cars. Once while walking by a hair salon, they asked me if I wanted a free haircut done by a trainee. Same kind of thing.

I think a hair cut is riskier! ;)
