Replacing door weather stripping, sweep and threshold?
« on: October 29, 2021, 12:24:42 PM »
So the weather stripping on the front door is pretty old and we'll definitely need a new sweep and possibly threshold. Currently, the bottom "threshold" is just wood - would it make sense to install a metal threshold on top of it while replacing the door sweep?

I was thinking about picking up something like this:
https://www.homedepot.com/p/M-D-Building-Products-Deluxe-Low-3-3-4-in-x-20-in-Bronze-Aluminum-Threshold-with-Vinyl-Seal-99025020000/205958256

Along with this:

And a few of these:

IIRC, our last place had a metal threshold both in the entry way and garage entry. So it's a bit foreign/strange to me not seeing one in the entry of the current place.

I Agree you probably don’t want exposed wood on the ground level, especially with the drainage issues. Also consider a roll-up door screen. Our house in Santa Monica had one and it was great!

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
