recommendation for waterproof sealing primer?
« on: May 14, 2013, 03:32:50 AM »
i have some minor water stains on a wall I need to paint.  I prefer something that dries quickly and hopefully doesn't have too many noxious fumes (i have respiratory issues).

Any recommendations?

Kilz has always done the job for me.  Make sure whatever caused the stain is fixed first.

I'll second Kilz.  It covered the horrible red stains in the plaster of my old dining room when Bin 123 wouldn't.

I just covered some light water staining on a bedroom ceiling with a Zinnser product that is a bright white ceiling paint the does primer/sealer duty, and it is a pepto-bismol pink as you apply it. Absolutely fantastic stuff. I went on to paint a few more ceiling with it, and it's hands down, the best ceiling paint I ever used.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
