We saved our landlord about $200 because my wife and I fixed the refrigerator ourselves (with the help of youtube). We were a little nervous about losing some food because of spoil. However, we figured out pretty quick that the fan wasn't moving correctly. You simply fiddle with the fan until it starts to spin again.

I just fixed our fridge too.  Had to replace a defrost sensor because the cooling coil was freezing up.  The part was about $12.   Ordered a fan motor too, but didn't need it.

I don't think I'll buy another Samsung.

Wish I knew how to fix an A/C, because now that's acting up...!

Over here Landlords just have to give you the 4 walls and sometimes if you're lucky an air conditioner. Everything else is your responsibility to furnish....

Congrats on the badassity - great that you were able to figure it out. Even better that you did it together :D
