Maximizing a Studio?

My husband and I are moving from our 1 bedroom apartment rental to purchasing a studio. We've rented a studio together before but this is our first owned property, we can really make it our own. Any cool ideas on separating the bed area from the rest of the studio? I'm not a big fan on putting a shelving unit in front of the bed.

Kudos for buying a studio, I'm guessing in a dense urban area? As to your question, you have lots of options. The way to make it really feel like 2 different rooms would be to put up a partial wall. Shouldn't be too hard, nor expensive to do so I would think. In light of that, since you don't want shelves, your only other option I can see would be a panel of some sort or even a curtain? We are planning to do this in a couple years to close off the dining room to make a third bedroom.

I love this. Hopefully my husband will be on board! My original option was the curtains with tracks in the ceiling but he wasn't a fan of that idea.
