Pre-MMM, I bought a stupidly-expensive custom console table made of two planks of lacquered MDF and 4 metal legs.  The builders cut the wood to the wrong size.  Twice.  So I now have 4 extra pieces of very nicely lacquered MDF, but they have notches and cuts in them for the legs, so not quite perfect for many uses.

Can you give me any ideas on something to build with these?  Or should I just post them and make them available to someone who is handy.  If someone could recreate the metal legs, then they could build 2 perfect console tables and sell them for a lot of money if they find someone equally as silly as I was.

Planks 1&2:  12 inches wide by 68 inches long and 2.5 or 3 inches deep.  Top and sides are perfect.  Bottoms have 4-mm deep, playing-card sized sections augured out of the plank (pre-lacquer) where the metal leg meets the top of the console.

Planks 3&4:  11.5 inches wide by 68 inches long by 1 inch deep.  These have a 5mm x 2mm notch cut into each side of the plank for the metal legs to rest in to hold the console table shelf.

I thought about a table with the two thicker planks, but the thickness is awkward to sit at.  The thinner planks have those notches, so it wouldn't look nice.  A bench would (I think) need a support mid-way, so it would look a bit clumsy.  A bookcase would have unmatched thicknesses of wood.  Any ideas?  (I'm not very handy, but I can use an electric drill).  Also would like ideas on how to sell these things to someone who could use them.

My facebook has several local buy/sell/trade site on which people post things for sale.  If you have facebook, you could try that.  Or try Craigslist depending on your location.  (Mine is very lean in postings so not a great place to try to sell stuff due to our location.)

Thanks.  I'm really trying to find some way to use them myself first if at all possible, since they clearly match my existing decor exactly.

Short of that, there's no doubt I could find many people to take them off my hands for next to nothing.  CL in my area is for bargain hunters.  And I"m not active on FB

Thanks for the suggestions though

Sokoloff, you just helped me figure out that I'm trying to create a solution for a problem that doesn't exist. As soon as I read that, I thought "yes!  A bar!  Now, where will I put it?"  I guess it's time to realize I don't need these.
Thank you!

So -- what do you need?

Nothing.  There is nothing I need.  Except more money in my stash.  I don't need the planks so there's no real reason to try to make something out of them.  Better off selling them or even donating them if someone else can make something out of them that will be useful.
