Hanging Bathroom Mirror
« on: December 25, 2013, 09:42:19 PM »
Hi,

Im trying to hang a wood framed bathroom mirror. Went to Lowe's, and the guy there took me to the hanger and bracket section. Everything there would cause the mirror to jut out of the wall. Every bathroom Ive seen they are flush, and stuck to the wall really well, so I would assume its not a bracket (some kind of adhesive??). I've tried Googling it, but no avail.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Abe

Use that adhesive, but I recommend installing a bottom bracket and some kind of top bracket for extra safety.

Do you already have a mirror mounted in a frame?

I've done them using the above mentioned clips and adhesive (putting the mirror straight on the wall, THEN cutting a frame to fit out of trim materials and applying that over the mirror.  Then you can firmly attach the frame to the wall in a couple of places and put a few spots of silicone to hold it steady on the mirror... but it isn't actually holding up the mirror.

If you paint the back side of the frame black, you won't see the reflection of it around the edges.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
