Washing machine issues

With our move to Colorado we're trying not to use our dryer if we can help it; however, when our clothes come out of the washing machine and line dry they end up wrinkled and kinda stiff. Is this a function of our water source or something else? My wife wants to run them through the dryer for a few minutes to work out the wrinkles, but I'm hoping to find another solution.

I think the dryer for a few minutes sounds like a good compromise.

Doesn't take more than 5 minutes to get the wrinkles out, i'm not certain on this next statement, but I'm pretty sure low heat is all that is needed.

I find that airflow matters. Hang drying things in the house where there's no airflow, they end up stiff, like they've been starched. Hanging them near a vent/register or fan, they end up the same as coming out of the dryer.
