Drawer pulls
« on: January 31, 2015, 01:55:31 PM »
We have acquired an old (but not antique) wood dresser that is missing one knob drawer pull. Since we're saving every single penny and we don't have to have this dresser look particularly amazing, we thought we might either just buy one knob (no chance of finding a match) or else make our own. Does anyone have suggestions for cheap (less than 50 cents each) or free knob drawer pulls?

Junk shop?  Or ask at a local woodworking class whether someone would make you one: it could be a useful exercise for them.

I spent a little time looking online for ideas and found a way to make handles from large sticks from our property. We'll have to wait for the snow to melt somewhat to make it easier to get out and find the branches we need, but I think it will be a fun project and cheap. I'm all for buying if needed but would prefer free. I think I can use hardware we already own to make the pulls I have in mind.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
