Hello. I wonder if anyone has had this problem. I installed my new 50 gallon Rheem WH and it has a leak from the drain pipe. It's not leaking out the end, but is leaking out from the hole in the side of the tank  the pipe goes into.

Thanks for any input.

Check the water connections on the top - cold water inlet and hot water outlet.  It may be leaking there, trickling down inside and coming out at the drain pipe.
Call who installed it and ask that they fix it.
If that's not it; Call who/where you bought it from and ask them how to exchange it.

Fixed it.  I drained all the water out of the tank, unscrewed the drain pipe, cleaned some sealant off the threads, made sure the threads inside the tank were clean, wrapped the drain pipe threads twice with teflon tape, reinserted the drain pipe and tightened it up about 4 revolutions. Refilled tank, waited for drips. Sure enough, got  few drips after a half hour. Tightened up drain pipe an additional half turn, drip stopped.
