Garbage Disposal - easy fix!
« on: March 27, 2014, 10:06:17 PM »
I just fixed the garbage disposal after watching a 5 minute video on YouTube. It was such an easy fix, and I am grateful for this new, little voice in the back of my head that asks "what is the badass thing to do?". My wife is wondering who I am. DIY means so much more than cost savings.

Did you use the little hex wrench and/or reset button?

Yes, the hex wrench, which I had never really noticed before, worked wonderfully. The disposal stopped working, but was emitting a loud humming sound. A few turns and it worked fine. My first, and incorrect, impulse was that a plumber would be needed. 10 minutes later we were good to go!
