I know, I know...  I should be using questrade or wealthsimple apps but I prefer to have my stache with an established big bank.

Seems BMO is having some competition though!  All my favourites are now $9.95 less expensive to buy, and I don't have to save up $5k to make the fee a reasonable expense ratio.

Thanks for this!  As a US citizen, my ETFs are US domiciled, so Questrade has been a better option but I'm glad to see things moving in a commission-free direction.  I've heard good things about BMO as a bank as well.  I'm currently with CIBC, as they were the best to work with in terms of getting a mortgage from the US as a newcomer.  I've been pretty happy with them, but I just do checking and mortgage with them.

This is awesome! I wonder how long it will take (if ever) for TD to get on board. The $10 trading fee drives me nuts as we have about 7-8 different accounts and I can't wait for each account to reach multi-thousands before making a trade without feeling like I am leaving too much money off the table.

We do have our mortgage with BMO - it probably wouldn't be TOO difficult to change over. Hmmm, I will have to think on this one...

I use Questrade (via web, not app) and it works well for me. However, it is really good to see BMO make this move. I can fully understand the desire to stay at a publicly-listed long-established institution.

It will be interesting to see if any of the other Big 5 choose to follow their lead.  I sure hope so.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
