Defined Contribution Pension Plan (DCPP)
« on: August 30, 2021, 10:37:57 AM »
Can someone here confirm for me whether a DCPP is considered a "qualified" pension plan per the US/Canada tax treaty, and thus is not subject to PFIC regulations and reporting?

DCPP are treated as RRSPs or as IRA / 401k's, typically.    Tax treaty names RRSPs and IRAs directly, not always the 401Ks.

The DCPP is just a name for how $$ is contributed, you need to find out what the actual account is set up as -- maybe read the fine print about it?

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
