Essential Documents (Australia)
« on: March 31, 2020, 02:26:13 AM »
What would you consider to be essential documents? For instance, I think that:

1. We should all have an investment plan, so that we know the investment path we are on, and why we are investing in what we are investing in. This should be reviewed each year, and adjusted as circumstances change. Having this document gives us confidence when our mates suggest the newest best thing to invest in, or when the shit hits the fan, and we're in the midst of an emergency.

2. We should all document where all our stuff is, so that if we get knocked over by a tram, someone can find it. Particularly in a digital age, it can be almost impossible for other people to find your stuff because there's no paper trail.

3. We should all have a will, so that if we die (we all do it sometime), our loved ones don't have to spend time sorting through the problems that intestacy causes as well as everything else they're dealing with at the time.

For #2 passwords are big one to keep track of. One could have hundreds of passwords - literally every website and company you interact with requires a username and password.

#4 Birth certificate, Marriage Certificate, Passports and drivers licences. Those are the big 4 things generally needed to prove that you are you.
