Self Evaluation Accomplishments/Goals
« on: January 13, 2018, 06:56:15 PM »
Hello Mustachians,

This is a very sad time of the year for me. It's time for my job performance review. This will be the first one I have to do for this job as I started 6 months ago. I'm sort of a technical writer for accounting, and I will be pushed more and more into regular accounting duties as needs arise.
I feel like my job is mundane so its hard for me to think of accomplishments. I don't have any goals besides making enough money through my side hustles so I can quit (no money has been made yet)
I'm attaching what I have written so far. Even if you don't have accounting experience some of you are really good at writing bs. So have at it (please)!

ps let me know if the attachment doesn't work

Doesn't matter how mundane or boring the job is.

If your job is to shuck oysters, then your self evaluation should be how well, how fast, and how accurately you shucked oysters.   It should include whether you helped teach others to do so better than they did before, and whether you figured out a way to do so on your own behalf.   It should also include whether you figured out how to make more money or cut other costs while you were doing your job, and whether you did anything that would reflect well on the company with its customers or potential customers.

My job is tricky because making money or saving money is not a goal (federal govt). Although efficiency is which is one way I could frame it (writing SOPs will make processes more efficient in the long wrong). Speed is also not a goal.

Some of my boss's goals for me right now are to anticipate what the client needs without me asking them or them telling me (be psychic) and do a task without having to ask anybody how to do it (train myself) and get the information I need without asking anyone for it (the information I need is in people's heads).
I've made some progress on the main thing my boss wants, which is that he wants to give me a task and then I deliver it to him completely finished with zero input or review from him. I guess I could talk about that. But I have figure out how not to sound facetious because I thought managers were for reviewing things but this one doesn't want to do it.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
