Worn sole on hiking boots
« on: September 11, 2019, 11:08:45 PM »
I have a favourite pair of Keen hiking boots that I've had for about ten years. The soles on them are now starting to wear thin at the heel on the bottom where they contact the ground. They are otherwise in good shape. I use them for longer hikes when Tevas won't do.

Any tips on how to repair/reinforce the bottom of the sole? Maybe some "shoe glue"?

No reinforcement repair you will bubblegum together will last very long.  If you really love the boot, I would look at replacing entire sole.

Yea find a cobbler and have them resole them.  My keens fell apart before the soles wore through, but I resoled my old carhartts 3 times before the rest of them were falling apart too much.  It's cheaper than a new pair of boots, and even if it wasn't, still worth it to keep pair of boots you love going.
