If anyone is wondering, I was in a similar boat and ended up going the charity auction for the fancy champagne.

There are particular rules about how you can claim the tax donation (at tax basis, not market value) that might be a problem for us, but I'll worry about that next April or so.

Well, I still have the Dom.  But it's my MIL's 70th birthday later this month, so I'm sending it to her.  So, sort of like charity.  Sorry to those that wanted to drink it at the next meetup.  :)
