Wisconsin Teacher Retirement System
« on: July 14, 2014, 03:09:30 PM »
Hi All,

Looking for some guidance. My wife is an elementary school teacher in Wisconsin and we're getting her enrolled in the 403(b). There are eleven option for providers. I would prefer Vanguard, but that isn't an option. Can anyone speak for or against any of the providers listed below. I've heard of most of them, but I don't have any experience with them. Also, if anybody has any familiarity with the Wisconsin Teacher Retirement plan in general, please share!

Thanks!

Fidelity.  Period.  I would not consider any other provider.  The rest are annuity sellers and high fee funds and brokers.  Get Fidelity's offerings in her plan and post them here if you want input on the choices.

Fidelity. If you have access to their Spartan fund series, it's basically Vanguard with a more user friendly website. DW's 401(k) is with them and I've been happy with the Spartan funds ever since I learned about low ER and how important that is.

I agree with everyone else.  Fidelity is the way to go.  Their Spartan Funds have very low fees.  The next best thing to Vanguard.
