Which Vanguard Index Funds should I pick?
« on: November 25, 2013, 06:11:15 PM »
I am 34 married with 2 kids.  I was thinking about investing in index funds instead of just letting the funds sit in the bank.  I'm new to investing and was thinking about doing
35 percent in Vanguard US Bond Index (VBTLX) and 35 percent in Vanguard Total US Stock Market Index (VTSAX) and 30 percent in Vanguard Total International Stock Market Index (VTIAX) ...Admiral Shares.  I have about 31,000 to invest and can add 500 each month.  Any opinions?  Is this diversified enough?  Any help is appreciated.  Thanks

Will

Looks pretty solid to me!  Is it diverse enough?  I personally think it is, since it is essentially the entire stock market plus all the US bond market.  There isn't a whole lot you are leaving out.
