Question about the Barclaycard Arrival+
« on: November 11, 2014, 06:04:23 AM »
I'm trying to confirm something about this card, but can't find it spelled out in the terms & conditions online and can't figure out how to get a representative on the phone with me without already having a card/card number.

I don't have this card yet and only want to apply for another annual fee card if I can do the following:  charge airline tickets as soon as I receive the card, wait 3 months for the points bonus to kick in, and then retroactively apply the points to the airline tickets as a statement credit.

Arebelspy suggested it was possible to apply the bonus a few statements back but I wasn't sure if it would work as far back as 3-4 statements.  Does anyone know for sure?

I have that card.  Here's what it says on the awards page of my account:
"Use your miles to redeem for a travel statement credit starting at 2,500 miles for $25 toward all or a portion of your travel  purchases within the last 120 days."

Also, I got the bonus points on my account as soon as I reached the $3,000 spend limit (within a day or two).

That's super helpful!  Thanks jennifers.  So the bonus doesn't necessarily take 3 months to apply, it's just when you hit the spend limit?

When I initially signed up, I believe the redemption window was 90 days. I've been "upgraded" to make it 120 days now.

As Jennifers says, the bonus points do post quickly. However, I'm not sure what happens if using your bonus points were to take you below the $3,000 spend limit.

From awards webpage: "Redeem for travel statement credits, your best value, starting at 2,500 miles for $25 toward travel purchases within the last 120 days. Don't have a recent travel purchase? You can redeem for cash back statement credits, gift cards and merchandise." Rewards other than travel expenses redeem @ 50%, meaning 5,000 miles for $25 or 2,500 miles for $12.50, depending on type.

Our bonus points appeared within a day or two of reaching the spending goal.

This card does not charge a foreign transaction fee & has the embedded chip plus swipe strip. Authorized users have a different card # & the statement breaks out each user's charges.
