We needed to buy the appliances for our next reno project. The kitchen is really small, so we had to choose very carefully. The place we usually go was having their annual blowout sale. We found everything we needed. The stove had to be ordered. This morning, someone had the very same stove on NextDoor for less than half the price! It came with their new house, but they wanted something different. We bought it and canceled the one on order, saving $750.
Yesterday, someone offered some brand-new LVP flooring on Craigslist. Today, DH went to the store it came from to get a sample. It was a little different than I had in mind, but for half price, it will be fine. Thing is, it was way more than we needed. He was asking $2500, but agreed to $2000 if we took it all. We think we might be able to use half of it and sell the rest to another buyer in the same complex, driving our final cost way down.
