Hey this one really happened today, and it really is small: I always pay my light bill by phone, using my credit card so I get travel points. Today i get stuck in a loop asking me to put in my phone number, then asking for the street number of my house, phone number, street number, lather, rinse, repeat. So I press zero, and pay the nice customer service girl directly. At the end she tells me there is a $3.00 convenience charge for talking to a person and wanted to make sure it was ok with me.
Well hell to the no. Your automated system, which I always use, didn't work, causing me to talk to you instead. She had to check with her supervisor, and what do you know, they didn't charge me.
