amazon.ca vs amazon.com
« on: November 07, 2017, 06:29:04 PM »
Canadians what's with Amazon.ca??? I wanted to purchase a book for a friend (well friends child really). I live in US, they live in Canada. I assumed (bad idea) it would be cheaper from the Canadian website. Nope! Not only was the book more expensive but it wasn't going to get there for a month! Went and looked it up on the US website. Book was around half price on amazon.com and even throwing in the cost of international shipping it was only 4 cents more and is supposed to arrive in 7 days.

There's a lot more competition from third-party sellers on the US site. Most don't bother listing in Canada, though perhaps that type of arbitrage could be lucrative?

Yep. In general things are more expensive on amazon.ca. It is getting a bit better though.
